Jam Anyone?

Yesterday Sadie and I made jam with the blackberries. Sadie's job was to 'mush' the blackberries.

Today we went to pick blackberries. I had no idea they were so big! and not very tasty. They are going to have to have a lot of sugar on them!

Here is Sadie in her pretty dress Here is the temple All in all we had a fun weekend. We are all extremely tired and hope that is the last car trip until we move. Todd has vowed to leave the East Coast as soon as school is done. He hates the traffic and toll booths and commuting.

Sunday Sightseeing tour

Our Fun Weekend

Our trip began at 6:00 Thursday evening. We drove to Philadelphia and arrived at 2:30 am at our realtor's house where we slept until 6:00 am. We headed to the storage place and parked the trailer (rather than unloading it since we couldn't find any help to unload it). We walked through our house (only the first floor since the stairs weren't in). We then were off to our first appointment which was for basic design stuff. Our next apointment was at the carpet place which was a 40 min drive away. After carpet we headed to the kitchen cabinet place, which was another 40 min drive. The girl was completely rude to us, but it could have been because both children were screaming. After a while, we just gave up and we were also out of time so we left and headed to New Jersey for the wedding. We were supposed to be there at 5:00. We left Phili at 3:00 and the navi said it was an hour and a half drive. Unfotunately we hit traffic and it ended up taking us 3 hours to get to the hotel. So we didn't reach to wedding until 6:30, but it was okay since we beat Ray and Evalee and Ryan and Talya who were traveling by train from New York. Ivy's family threw a grand reception complete with dinner and dancing. Here is a picture of Sadie with her dance partner (i don't know who she was)We left early (10:00) from the reception to head to bed since both kids were so cranky. We were told that everyone was leaving at 7:00 am to go to the temple (the sealing was at 2:00pm) so Todd boycotted and decided that we would wait until 8:30 to leave. (knowing the matheson family we knew that chances weren't very high that they would actually leave at 7:00). History repeats itself and they didn't end up leaving until 8:00. We left at 8:30 and still beat everyone there by half an hour. (we won't say how fast Todd was going, but Ivy's dad was barely driving the speed limit)
One thing Todd and I learned to dread was this:TOLL BOOTHS!!! They charge extra for each axle you have. So when we had the trailer it was $15.00 to go through each one! So this whole trip cost us $60 in just tolls.

The wedding was beautifull, but really hot outside! Sadie thought she would help Ivy by holding her pretty dress.

Sick Day

Wouldn't you know that the day before we are supposed to leave Sadie comes down with the flu! So all night Sadie woke up every 45 minutes demanding juice and water because she was dehydrated and through it all she still managed to stay dry all night. I counted and between the hours of 1:00 and 2:30 Sadie woke up 3 times and Allie woke up 5 times, but there is no excuse for Allie. So hopefully this is only a 24 hour flu and that the rest of us don't catch it. Luckily daddy was home to help take care of Sadie since I am working full time as secretary until after the wedding.

House Update

Here is the newest picture of the house. We go on Friday to the design center to pick out all our options. I am excited to actually see the house that I will be living in for the next 4 years.

Our Trip to the Emergency Room

Two days a week all the sales reps in the office go play basketball together. As I am looking out our window I see Jason wrecklessly pull-up in the Tahoe. My first thought is "Jason is too good to drive the Maxima now?" But then I see that Todd is bent over in the passenger seat. I go running out and his ankle is completely swollen. Luckily we have some really good people here with us and there was already a wife on her way down to watch the girls for me. So we race to the emergency room. However, they won't let me go in with Todd because I had Allie (she refuses to take a bottle). The kind old lady who was a volunteer said she would hold Allie while I went back with Todd. Luckily the doctor said it wasn't broken and sent us on our way (with some really good drugs). Let's just hope they don't call back and say that it really is broken in 3 different places (oh wait, maybe that only happens in Casper, WY!) He's tough and has decided to go out and sell today on crutches!

Mommy's little helper?

Sadie loves to help clean up...as long as you sing the clean-up song. But sometimes I find things in strange places. For instance the cupcake pan is now the holder for Sadie's stacking cups! Or sometimes when she finds kitchen towels on the floor they end up in my underwear drawer. (I work part time as a poet) Sometimes I find her pull-up panties in the dirty clothes basket (hey, it makes sense!) And, if I am ever looking for my keys, you can bet that they are in Sadie's Lil' Kitty purse.

Since I'm not in any pictures with the kids I thought I would take one. We are gearing up for a VERY long weekend during which Todd and I will not be getting any sleep since we are having to drive through the night.

Bubbles Bath

Sadie's love in life is bubble baths. I can't take a shower without Sadie. That girl can get undressed so fast! Definately not a good trait for a girl to have. So, the other day I was washing dishes in the sink and Sadie was playing in the living. I finished washing the dishes and went into my room to grab something. When I came back into the kitchen Sadie had grabbed the stool and had stripped off her clothes and was trying to climb into the sink for a bubble bath. Then threw the biggest tantrum because I wouldn't let her take a bubble bath in the dirty dish water. I was laughing so hard which made her even madder. Sorry I didn't take a picture.

Sadie's First Haircut

I thought if I gave Sadie a haircut, it might grow a little faster. So I cut 1/4 of an inch off. It was so tramatizing she cried when she saw her hair in the sink.
