Repurposing

On Sunday I asked Todd to go through his closet and take out clothes that we can get rid of. I am determined not to move a bunch of crap we don't use! I was just going to put all the clothes in the garage sale and what didn't sell I was going to give to Goodwill. But since we have a lack of funds, I started thinking of ways I could reuse all of Todd's old clothes. So Monday I got busy using all of the clothes he said he wanted to get rid of.

I didn't take a a before picture of Allie's dress. It was just a men's button-up, collared shirt.

The back became the front. The front of the shirt is the back of the dress. The yoke made a great lined bodice. I wanted the top to cover a little higher so I inserted pleats (or squiggles as Allie calls them).

Before picture:

I promise he likes the pants, but he had just woken up from a nap that was too short. The pants are actually 5 inches too long but he doesn't need pants right now so I left myself lots of room to hem them when he needs some pants.

I was worried the material was too thin, so I used an white shirt of Todd's to line the pants.

Allie

I asked Allie to fold her clean laundry and then I went downstair. A few minutes later she yelled down to me if she could organize her drawers. So I said sure. After a while I noticed it had been really quiet so I went up and this is what I found. You can see that all she got down was folding one pair of tights on her bed!

Niagara Falls

Here are our pictures from Niagara Falls. Thanks to our friends we were able to use our passports and spent 2 nights on the Canadian side of the falls. Our hotel rooms looked right out on the falls.

It was so cold that we had to stop in this gift shop just to get warm. So we took our picture with the large moose and bought a postcard for Scott. (which I haven't mailed yet)

This past weekend we took a quick trip with some friends to visit Palmyra before we leave the East Coast.

Favorites

These are our 2 most favorite missionaries! Over the last 6 months we have become great friends. Jace prefers to go to Elder Fifita over me. Last week Elder Fifita was transferred after spending 6 months here are we are incredibly sad. We had a farewell dinner on Thursday and the girls picked out some snacks to give him as his departing gift.

Here is Jace wearing Elder Tusi's stylish hat. We are all pretty jealous of Elder Tusi's style and hope that someday we can achieve his same level of fashion expertise.
