Welcome to Raleigh, NC

Today was our first official day in Raleigh. As I told Dave, there are almost too many trees. I need wide open spaces. You drive down the road and you feel like you are in the middle of the forest EVERYWHERE you go! I get lost all the time because you can't see the stores from the main street and there aren't any tall signs. I told Todd I feel closterphobic. Our apartments are really nice and the pool is right out our front door. Sadie wakes up and runs to the sliding door saying swimsuit! She also is sleeping in her big-girl bed. She was so excited. We have to have a stool so that she can get up in her bed. I have to say that the people here are SO nice! I didn't expect it. I guess it's that southern hospitality. Our neighbors have already come over and introduced themselves. That makes living a new place so much easier!

I know the feeling with the trees. That's how it was in Port Townsend, Washington, when we went there for the job interview. All of the roads wound around through the trees. It was so hard to tell where we were!
